First of all, merry christmas to you all.

I received a SSD for christmas (OCZ Trion 100 240GB) for my mid 2009 Macbook pro. The problem is that when it is installed in the computer, it is as slow as hell.

Externally via USB, it seems to work absolutely fine. I was able to install el cap on it with no issue. But as soon as I put it back inside the macbook, it basically does nothing. The old HDD works absolutely fine, ruling out hardware issues?

I have done a bit of a google search and firmware keeps popping up as a potential problem but I can't seem to find a definitive answer.

Anybody experienced this?
