Hi,
I want to buy a 27" iMac and also want to manually upgrade it with a SSD. All the reports I read so far are exchanging the power cable with a splitter and therewith lose the temperature control. So I was wondering wether it would make sense to just solder a new power adapter to the old cable, thus kind of leaving the installed HDD as it is, but just attach the new SSD.
Or did I miss something?
(I'm really god with soldering, so it will not look like a hack)
