I have a macbook pro 2010 mid I want to install a SSD drive to it, any suggestions will any SSD drive work in a macbook pro? Do I need a kit or is it the same size as a laptop drive?

im going to order some ram as I'm only 4gb going with Kingston 8gb ram ! or is there a better option does buying more expensive ram work better even though it can only have the same specs?

Any help will be great !! also any deals out there on a SSD

Do one at a time, start with an SSD that has a good OSX track record (or at least firmware that supports it)

Intel, Samsung are popular (I use an Intel 320 in my 2010 MBP). OCZ was hit and miss for me (mostly firmware issues).

You'll need a #00 Philips & Torx (can't recall the number, iFixit will have that info). Easy.

I recommend;

Samsung 840 Pro/Non
Samsung 830
Crucial M4
OCZ Vertex 4
OCZ Vector Series

The guide(s) in my sig may help you too.

so its not exactly plug and play with SSD on OSX I don't care about the info on the mac-book pro I just want to upgrade and start new ! I have original disks and will be updating to mountain lion.

I picked up and installed a Samsung 830 drive in my 2012 MBP 2 weeks or so ago. LOVE IT.
