When my battery is drained completely and when I try to wake it back up when it is plugged in, I get the error screen and am forced to restart. I have a OCZ Vertex 2 that is in the original hard drive bay and a second hard drive in an optibay.

Go into terminal and type

sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0

enter password

sudo rm /var/vm/sleepimage

Doing that will keep it from storing a sleep image on the SSD and then you can remove the sleepimage which will be taking up the equivalent of your RAM on your SSD. If you have 8gb of ram, that will save you 8gb on the ssd. Also when the battery dies, it will not save the computer state so make sure everything is saved before the computer dies.
