So, I may be misunderstanding something here, but I thought I could do the following:

1. Buy SSD > install
2. Pop in Snow Leopard and do a fresh install on the new SSD
3. Connect external hard drive and pull over what ever data I wanted from the old HD

BUT, that's not working. I am getting a blue screen with a folder and a question mark. I've tried most of the boot up commands you can do and none work.

Help!!!!!!

Many thanks!

Couple questions... are you inserting the SL disk then holding C while booting? If so, what happens?

Is the SL disk either a retail SL disk or the grey one that came with your specific machine? If it is a grey disk from another model it will not work.
