Sometimes during my workflow with 4K video I transfer between 500 to 1TB of files to the desktop temporarily. The speed of the iMP SSD's helps with scrubbing thru and working efficiently with this kind off data. It's then transferred to a TB3 RAID for long term storage. But then it occurred to me it might not be the best thing for the SSD's to put them thru so many cycles. Does it matter?

Well, it matters, but you still may want to use it the way you are now. I have not seen Apple SSD life cycle expectations, but they are high end SSDs, so probably quite high. High end SSDs quote life time expectancies in PB (petabytes). Way to check how much you have already written is available (https://www.cnet.com/how-to/find-how-how-much-longer-your-ssd-will-last/). But even if you are wearing your SSD, the other option is wear yourself with waiting for much slower scrubbing. In other words, I would still use the SSD and just plan to replace the computer when needed. It seems worth it in this case...
