Hi all,

Having recently wanted nothing more than to get my mits on an ssd - i decided to bite the bullet and buy direct from OWC and pay a bit extra (also, as the vertex 3 is taking too long and the sata-3 fiasco on MBP /lack apple support for sata-3/ unproven tech atm)

Now, OCZ has stated that their limited warranty does not apply to re-sales over sites like ebay/amazon market place. The warranty only covers the purchase of the end-user, purchasing from an authorised OCZ distributor/dealer.

Does this also apply to crucial/intel/owc/kingston/corsair etc

I have heard anecdotal reposes on some threads that crucial have not objected to c300 drives brought as new/boxed items sold on ebay.

With many of us now finally lookin at ssd as a viable storage alternative to conventional hdds; coupled with those tempting fleabay prices - are we bargaining for more than we originally anticipated?

However, if the drives fail well within warranty period, and the nightmares of trying to RMA set in, outside the protection of the payapal buyer's chargeback window - will be left with a heap of defunct NAND flash as bad decor, and a huge ole in our pockets.
