Ive searched the forum, Ive searched the internet, but I have yet to find conclusive info about SSE4 technology that supposedly is part of Core2Duo.

suggests that SSE4 will enhance video decoding, and since im really keen on converting my DVDs to H.264, Ive been tempted to wait for merom so far. Supposedly, applications havent been optimized to take advantage of SSE4 so far. However, I havent been able to find any info on this. Wikipedia merely states that SSE4 instructions build upon SSE3, but fails to say what it does and what kind of improvement we can expect. Im at a loss...
