Hi,
I have a mid 2011 iMac 27" with a 250Gb SSD and a secondary 2TB HDD.
Currently I have 16 Gb Ram and running OSX 10.9.5.
I've purchased a seagate 4TB SSHD to substitute my internal secondary 2TB HDD. (I'll clone the contents of the HDD to the SSHD)

First I connected the new disk to an external enclosure so I can initialize it and clone it before opening the iMac and swap it with the internal (secondary) HDD.
Problem is.. the 4TB disk reads as 2 separate disks on Disk Utility. One with 2TB and one with 1.8TB.
This is my first time with an SSHD, and I realize it is indeed 2 disks, and ssd and a hdd and it chooses what files go where... But how do I initialize it as one disk so it can do its thing on itself?

THank you.
M.

What enclosure are you using?
