Hi: I'm a new mac user and am having issues with getting on to some internet sites. I get a message about the SSL protocol but have no idea what that is or how to do anything about not being able to get on websites. My computer is an ibook and I spent 2 hours yesterday playing around and trying to fix this. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!

What does the message says? What browser are you using?

I'll have to check tonight to see exactly what the message says. Not sure what browser I'm using. Are you talking about either Safari or Firefox (I think that's what it's called). I have both on my computer.

Yes, I wanted to know which one gives you the message.

Safari, but it's weird it lets me on THIS site. The message I get is "Cannot connect to (whatever website) because the SSL protocol has been disabled."
