Stable External HDD for HD video editing?

I am looking for a firewire 800 hardrive (that also has either firewire 400 or USB) that has a lot of storage space, but that is most importantly stable to ensure I dont loose my data. Are there any external drive solutions that are RAID (like two 500 gig drvies already in RAID to ensure I wont have data loss).

You can't trust RAID it save your data. If you accidentally delete something its written to both drives at the same time. It only helps with drive failure. But i don't have any recommendations for external enclosures.
