I've disliked Stacks since their inception back on Leopard. It looks cool, but other than that they're pretty useless, since I can't drag stuff, right-click on apps, and I can see more of my apps at a time if I open a window.
So, I know you can make an alias and put it in the dock, you can cmd-opt-click, and you can make a small apple script and put it in the dock. But there are limitations with all of these.
However, I was thinking of making a simple program that opened the Applications windowinstead of the Stackand that one could drop .app files on top of, so that the program could move them into one's Applications folder. Thus, overcoming all of the limitations the aforementioned methods have.
Basically, a program that does what regular docked folders did back in Tiger.
But, I noticed with the apple script I made, it's kind of slow to launchbecause it has to bounce once, then activate. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of something faster than an app or maybe another way to achieve this. Does anyone know existing programs that do this??? Sadly, I haven't been able to find a solution for this.
