Having just seen the new Stage Manager in action - what do you guys think, are we going to see Samsung Dex-style features in the iPhone (Pro)?

I mean, it would be quite cool (as soon as USB C becomes a requirement) to just use your phone instead of a laptop whenever you go to work somewhere else where screen and keyboard/mouse are already available.

And thinking about the strategy Apple has concerning the M1-chip (putting it into the iPad Air for example) - how likely do you think is it that we are going to see M-chips in Pro iPhones?
I mean, A14 and M1 don‘t have that many differences in architecture anyways.
This might also line up with the rumors of a different chip in the iPhone 14 models compared to the iPhone 14 Pro models.

Would love to hear your thoughts on likelyhood as well as possible uses for you :)

I already replaced my Mac with an iPad Pro. If they did this, I’d ditch my iPad and go iPhone only. Especially if someone made a laptop-style dock for it. There was an Apple patent from a few years back with exactly this.

With all that in mind, it probably means Apple will never do it.

We have seen how hard Apple is trying to differentiate iPad from iPhone and Mac despite iPad is still, to this day, a blown up size iPhone with perks than an iPad, and I still treat it as such.

DeX style would be really cool, but I dunno if this will ever come into fruition. And if that happens, I’d prefer it run Windows PE style cutdown macOS than even more blown up iPadOS.
