I didn’t expect Stage Manager to still be so buggy in iPad OS 16.2. (I’m on the new M2 iPad Pro 12’9inch)

It seems Apple really has issues getting this to work. Which is why external monitor support is still not available either.

But what bothers me is this still happening:

- Windows resize themselves for no reason, sometimes just by switching to another window. Sometimes when resizing another one. Why?

- Sometimes apps disappear from a window group and end up in their own and you have to drag the app over to the desired group again.

- Unfortunately we’re not allowed to resize our app windows as we like (we knew that already) like in Samsung Dex and we can’t even fully control the positions of the app windows, which is another weird decision. But sometimes the apps move without me doing anything other than slightly readjusting another window. Why can’t Apple make sure background apps windows don’t erratically move around when you move a main window. It’s just weird that this whole positioning of app windows is such a big deal for them.

I was really excited about Stage Manager when it first was shown but now in real life it’s nearly useless, especially being so buggy and no external monitor support yet.

I'm so glad I haven't tried this. I tried it a ways back for external monitor support and it worked fine for the limited time I used it. The other stuff sounds ...unfortunate.

I turned this one when I installed iPad OS 16.1, and a day later turned it off again.

Stage Manager is a real buggy F.U. mess. I can’t believe they let it out the door. SJ would have never tolerated crap like this.
