Mine left Alaska last night, delivery scheduled for tomorrow. I ordered a SBSS Series 0 within the first minute of the site being up in 2015 and it took three weeks to get past launch when every other watch was shipping on launch. It had to do with Apple not expecting the Space Black to be so popular and that the DLC coating process takes a lot longer than just milling and polishing a plain Stainless case. I think history just repeated itself. They built in a buffer by being pessimistic with Space Black case yields and pushing orders later to begin with. It's arguably the first time the Watch has changed from any perspective but tech. They actually changed the screen and case enough to make a difference noticeable, so naturally more people were going to jump on the new watch than have in previous years. Basically you have the most technique intensive model to produce taking longer to produce so order backlogs are exacerbated. The difference this time is that they actually had some cases made before launch so there were some pre-orders that made it to launch and some available in stores. But as far as I can tell, supply was so constrained that no 3rd-party retailers had Space Black inventory to make launch day, unlike every other model.
