I just got an Apple Watch ultra 2 days ago. Just this morning I saw these ‘stains’ or something on the side. I can’t rub it. Does anybody have the same or should I return it?

There have been a few posts on here since the ultra was released about the same thing. Some have managed to wipe of the stains and some haven't. I've worn my ultra 24/7 (except for a quick charge) for the last 2 weeks and just checked mine and the antenna band looks perfect. If I'm being honest I don't even see that antenna band when I'm wearing the watch and only see it when posts come up on here and I specifically check it.

Me personally wouldn't be bothered about a few marks that I'd never see, that part of the watch is made out of some sort of plastic/resin and I guess is more prone to marking than other parts of the watch.

That said if you are going to see it and it's going to bother you that much then return it. If you get a replacement then I think theres a chance that watch would do the same.

The issue is…some people are referring to marks where they’ve possible scratched the antenna material themselves. Some (such as myself) are referring to marks that were either there out the box or that, also in my case, appeared overnight on the first night - having only worn the watch around the house and not worn to sleep. Mine do not rub off.

Since then, I’ve travelled on planes multiple times, worn it to bed, gone indoor rock climbing three times a week since getting it and there’s no other antenna marks since the first 24 hours. For some of us, they are under the atenna material which is why they can’t be rubbed off. But a lot of people here always have to know better and belittle what others are trying to explain, without fully understanding what they’re being told 🙄

My launch day Ultra had similar marks out of the box. Sweat, rain, hail, and snow took care of the marks. A little honest use cleans the manufacturing residue up and sets the stage to develop a nice titanium patina. Best Apple watch ever.

I couldn't even see that with my naked eye so I'm inclined to say, who cares.

Best Apple watch by a long shot.

Hello everyone. I got the ultra last Thursday. Had a similar stain right out of the box. Took it authorized Apple service center and the technician said he would try to wipe it with some Apple approved alcohol swabs and Lo and behold it disappeared except for a little spot. Attaching link for reference before and after pics

not sure what it is, but no need to worry. eventually these “spots” will cover the whole antenna band and it’ll even out.

The band is made of soft plastic and can absorb Stains from the environment. Some of you are looking at your watch too close and need to relax and enjoy your watch. No one else will see the offending dot or stain so you will not be shamed.
