I have replaced my 2012 MacBook Air to a New M3 Mac Book Air 13 at Christmas.
I would like to get my Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac in my new Mac book air.

Searching the internet says something about " Rosseta"
1.Do I have to first download something called Rosetta?
I can deactivate the MS office in my old laptop as that will not be used.
2.How could get my paid version of my stand alone Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac on my new machine?
I have the activation key I received originally when I bought it in 2016 for it.

Thanking 🙏🏿 you

Rossetta Stone is a language learning product I believe. Has nothing to do with Office either way.
Thank you for a quick response
I get a message as follows:
To install"Microsoft office for Mac" you need to install Rosetta
Do you want to install it now
Rosetta enables Intel-based features to run on Apple silicon Macs.
Reopening applications after installation is required to start using Rosetta.

Rosetta will automatically prompt to install when needed. The information correct, "Rosetta enables Intel-based features to run on Apple silicon Macs." Since Office 2016 is not a native Apple Silicon application, Rosetta is needed.

The answers to the other questions. Yes, it would be wise to de-activate Office on your old Mac. You should then be able to activate Office on the new Mac with the activation key.
