Like the title states, I bought a new iMac and was given the AirPods standard included as part of the education promotion. I have been watching movies/shows more on my new iPad Pro M1 and have wondered how much "better" are the pro's for this. My AirPods sound pretty good but, was just wondering. I would need to pay 90.00 for the pro's.

I have both and the Pro, for me, are more comfortable for longer stretches of use. And if you're in an environment with a lot of low hums or buzzing, such as fans, AC, or cars outside, the noice canceling comes in handy.

One thing I notice is that when watching Disney plus for example, the voice seems off with the AirPods on, if I switch it to the iPad's speakers the voice seems in sync there.

Spatial Audio, (correct me if I am wrong) works on the APP and not the APs. For that alone, I would go for the APP.

Fire up AppleTV and watch a trailer with SA on (try Greyhound on the IPP). The head tracking is impressive but it's the immersion I like. It's gypsy magic I swear from IEMs!!

Have you used in-ear earbuds before? If you like other in-ear you would prefer the pros.

Otherwise it's entirely personal preference. The pros with noise canceling are also better for your hearing. You don't need to turn up the volume so loud.
