Star rating - this can't be right

An app has appeared on the App Store which looks like a "prank" app, it does not work and seems to be designed to make the author money by fraud.

Hundreds of reviewers have given the app 1 star - indeed as many of them say - you can't give no stars.
However the title page shows an overall average of 2 1/2 stars.
How can this possibly be !

The average on the US store is like 4 - 4 & 1/2 stars. Probably because of promo codes (as they only work on the US store, and can be given to people for free to leave high reviews).

But as you said, the written reviews are all 1 star reviews. If you've purchased the app, request a refund from Apple.
