Starbucks won't be offering free wifi anywhere anytime soon. They are only letting you have free access to the iTunes wifi store.

iTunes is available at participating Starbucks and arrives in most major metropolitan areas in the U.S. by the end of 2008.

If I remember correctly, San Diego isn´t on their major city list either.
It´s Seattle, NYC, Chicago, SF and LA.

NO. In major cities, you will have free access to wifi music store. NOT the internet.
