Does somebody tried to play SC2 on this machine? I've tried with lowest settings at 1280 resolution, and i have steady 60 FPS + during gameplay 1v1 / 2v2 team battles. But when i up a bit textures, my temps are skyrocket to 99 celsius, when i'm using lowest settings temp is hovering around 75 celsius.

I'm using Metal (beta) instead of OpenGL 2.1/4. Maybe i can do something with settings, to improve details without getting 99 celsius?

Well you get a better performance using metal compared to openGL, so thats one thing.
To help keep the temperature down I would recommend fan controls software, I personally prefer smcFanControl, but there are a few other. Just set the fans to max before you start playing and you will have a little extra headspace before throttling. Additional to that you can raise the back end of the Mac a little giving more space underneath for passive cooling.

You mean to set max fan speed before launching the game? Maybe i can experiment with some settings?

By the way, when does CPU starts throttling? At what temp?

I am not 100% sure about the specific CPU in your system, but it is around 100 degrees Celcius that it will go down hill fast. However you can get more performance out of a cooler chip, and look at it this way, fans are way cheaper to replace then a whole system which died due to heat.
When I run CPU test on my machine I get a higher result when fans are at max compared to system controlled, the temperature does not hit max in either case but it seems like there is a correlation.

And yah, max fan before starting the game, it it easier to be ahead of temperature then trying to catch up.
