Hi everyone. I am new here but not to Macs. I am currently running Mac OS X v10.6.5 on my MacBook Pro. Recently, everytime I restart I get an icon for "starfield update." The folder is located in my Applications folder but I don't know where it came from. A Google search didn't turn anything up. I can't close the app I have to force it closed. Is this something that should exist on my machine or is it some sort of malware?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Greg

I figured as much, but what is it? Why won't it close without forcing it closed?

Nonsense. Everyone knows there is no malware on Macs.

Might put a ;) smiley at the end of your joke.

There is a reason e.g. why we got a XProtect malware-definitions update with 10.6.4 :)

...not nearly as spread as Windows malware - but there is [sic] malware for OsX out there...
