Hey all,
On my 5,1 I had been using the 'shutdown -u -h now' command and then shutting off the power of a HomeKit outlet that the MP is connected to. Upon restoring power the MP 5,1 would boot. All I needed to do was enable the 'Start up automatically after a power failure' setting in 'Energy Saver'.
It's not working on my 7,1. A friend just got a 7,1 and tried this today and it worked fine.
I have tried everything I can think of (outside of a reinstall): reset NVRAM, SMC, deleted the appropriate pref .plist files. I even tried enabling this same setting using 'sudo pmset autorestart 1' and 'sudo systemsetup -setrestartpowerfailure on' - but I'm pretty sure all of these simply set the same .plist entry.
Has anyone else come across this setting not working? I found this stackexchange thread but it also wasn't much help.
Thanks!
