Ok, so after major Hard drive problems, and one clean install later, OS X 10.4.10
is working again, but, i have no start up chime ?? ive tried everything, and no the volume in preferences isn't muted, would anyone have any idea's ? i was kinda fond of that annoying chime.

any help appreciated guys ;)

You could always time it right and then simply sing the tune on your own :p

what kinda " Boonnngg"

i don't think it's the same somehow, gotta resolve this it's sending me insane,
everything is as it should be or at least appears that way, just no frickin chime, it may be really annoying but it was my chime :(

I always thought the startup chime was programmed into the ROM chip, so a hard-drive crash has nothing to do with this. It makes that noise regardless of what system your Mac is running. I'd take it up with Apple. Maybe something in the ROM is corrupted (and that is completely speculative).

Whatever you do, you gotta get it back, for your sanity's sake.
