start up disc problem

Hi, this problem is probably simple , unfortunately so am I, my Macbook pro with 250 Gb wont install update or anything else due to lack of space but i have just emptied all my music from i tunes . on system info it is showing 237 Gb of storage marked as other.
Any help greatly appreciated, Thanks
