I have the SR MBP 120 GB and recently I've noticed that it has been taking a LONG time to start up. Like the gray Apple screen appears with the spinning wheel and apple logo and it just stays there. I waited 15 minutes and nothing. I had to restart it several times and wait before something actually happened.

Anyone know what might be causing this or should I just make an appointment at the genius bar? I'm still in my year warranty and I was going to get the Applecare plan anyway..

Thanks!

Boot up from the installation CDs and run Disk Utility.

or try an archive/install.

or take it to a genius first and see what they say.

In addition to using Disk Utility, start up in "Safe Mode". You may have some corrupted cache files.

I also suggest a PRAM reset as this too may be slightly corrupted.
