So I got my first job at my local Chevy/Lotus dealer as a lot attendant. It was pretty cool. My 2nd vehicle that was being picked up was a huge Kodiak truck with the Duramax Diesel. Maneuvering that was hard. Then some basic Tahoes, Impalas, etc. Then one Tahoe was making a noise. I pulled up and the customer( she was already was angry) goes ballistic. Anyway, what my boss said about that is that the Tahoe had a coolant leak. Caused some problems. But, she didn't want to pay for it. So they didn't repair it beyond fixing the leak. And the noise was the result from it. Then I get my first Corvette. I will say this, whatever your thoughts are on the OHV design, you can't diss the LS series. The rumble of the LS2 when I pressed the start button was impressive. And when it just idled it was amazing. From 3:30 PM when my shift started to about 7 PM everything was fine. Then after that it got slow. We're required to stay busy. So when we're not parking or getting vehicles we supposed to pick up trash and try to keep the dealer clean. So for the rest of my shift I was standing most of the time. And my legs are killing me. Anyway, I enjoy my job.

If you like the thought of turning wrenches, you could ask them to slide you over to the the lube rack; it sometimes pays a little more and you still get to drive a lot of nice cars. :)

No job is too small, yet there are a lot of people who think otherwise.

To quagmire and AppleGuy08 - congratulations to both of you on entering the workforce. Enjoy your experience and I hope you have a bulk of the earnings earmarked for something special (my birthday is in November if you don't)

Oh the leg pain fades after a few weeks. In my job (retail management) I'm on my feet sometimes 10-12 hours a day straight, and on occassion I make the mistake of wearing heels (like this past weekend). I'm still paying for that with my sore feet.

get used to sore legs/feet, it's just one of the facts of life when you work on your feet.

The only reason you had to pick up so much trash and whatnot is that you haven't found the best places to hide yet, or they were already taken by other lot attendants:D

I remember working for Ford. Was a pretty cool job, lots of fun. Enjoy and dont screw it up by doing something stupid.

I start my new position at my old job tomorrow finally. Microsoft software specialist
