I decided to give iWorks a shot. I have no need for Keynote, and Numbers (too inferior to Excel) but Pages is not bad. It launches faster than Word on the Mac, the files can be edited on my phone or iPad, and it provides all the features that I need for my uses. The toolbar can be customized (something that could be done in earlier versions of Office) and such. For my Resume files I still use Word as thats what the majority of employers accept, but when I write letters to individuals and false churches (as I do often) because I do evangelism I am using Pages. Not a bad piece of software. If I return to school and write papers it would be good to use this piece of software. However if I returned to school it would probably be computer school so I would be stuck with MS Office on Windows.

PS- Can Pages export to HTML?

The exercise of re-thinking how to approach tasks to try to use iWork is a worthy pursuit. I use a variety of productivity suites and their differences help me to consider what I do, how I do it, and why. Although the current version of iWork is a mere shadow of what it once was with iWork '09, Numbers is still quite useful, and Keynote is superior to PowerPoint and another reason why I'm a fan of the iWork suite.

You send out resumes in native Word format? That's interesting. When I receive resumes, they're in PDF format.

Regarding exporting Pages to HTML, no, Pages is not able to export directly to HTML. Depending upon what you're doing, you might want to reconsider your thoughts about Keynote. Keynote DOES export to HTML. Creating a "presentation" in portrait mode in a size and aspect ratio comparable to a sheet of paper, creating your document, and exporting THAT to HTML might do the trick.
