Ive stopped using Chrome due to resource hogging and now started using Safari.

However am having problems adding new bookmarks/folders to Safari. Keep getting this message and sometimes Safari crashes. It won't even let me delete preloaded bookmarks.

Any ideas where am going wrong ?

Try resetting safari using the safari menu. Export your bookmarks as plain html with chrome and try again. It could be the way crome is exporting the bookmarks so you could try a some sort of extension to export them and see if that works
