Also, BTW, you can put your iTunes files on an external drive if you want.
There are other people who are more knowledgeable than I am re: how to do this, but I think the gist is that you have to move the files and then re-add them to your iTunes library. First you also have to make sure that iTunes is configured (via the preferences dialog) to not "copy music," i.e., copy the music BACK from your external drive to internal drive automatically, since this would obviously defeat the purpose.![]()
That would probably result in the loss of some meta-data, e.g. how many times a track has been played.
