Startup help - i need some common apps

I´ve switched to macbook pro from PC, and I have a few questions to get me started.

Could anyone please tell me where i can find the best application for:

- Talking with friends using the "Windows Live" service?
- A good IRC client?
- And what about boot camp? I thought they said bootcamp is preinstalled, i dont find it...
- Bonus question: Does anyone have any idea when the CS4 trials become availible?
- If you recommend any other apps for a graphic designer new on the mac, don´t hesitate to do so.

Duff-Man says....have you looked at the sticky thread at the top of this forum that says "links to software recommendation threads" - you'll find lots of info there so it's a good place to start for some general software info....oh yeah!
