I am running mac mini G4 with tiger 10.4

Looking at the login items under my admin account all that is listed is 'itunes helper'.

Are there any non essential bootup items that I can safely remove? The list shows:

apache
appleshare
appservices
authserver
crashreporter
disks
fibrechannel
ifcstart
ipsservices
metadata
snmpserver

Maybe I just need a new mac. Performance is slow. I would get a newer OS but from what I gather the only newer thing I can run on this mac is Tiger 10.4.11 because it is not intel based.

Those items won't cause any difference performance if you were to remove them. I wouldn't delete any of them.

I'd recommend searching the forums for tips on speeding up your Mac, which will lead you to threads like this one. Some of the tips won't apply to 10.4, but others will.
