I have a program I want to start on login. It's called OSXPlanet and it makes a cool desktop that uses satellite/weather information to show the Earth and it's cloud cover, along with where the ISS and Hubbell telescope are.

I add it to my Login Items and it takes, and closes fine. I reboot, and its gone.

Any other item I add stays but for some dumb reason that one program vanishes every time I reboot.

Any ideas?

Does it vanish from the list or does it simply not start? When you add it to the Login Items, do you check the box to have it open hidden? :)

That's truly bizarre. What other third party apps do you have listed in your Login Items? Have you tested to see if it works in a different user account? :)

Well, since I posted this after chasing it for three months my computer kernel paniced (yay parallels) and boom, it loaded.

I give up
