Hello,

Is there anyway to start up a mac (i.e. like new mac that plays the welcome video).... i.e. to give a person buying a used mac the same experience... without reinstalling/removing the data that is already on the mac?

yep! you can remove an invisible file using Terminal which tells the Mac its already been setup. more info here.

when you reboot it shows the intro movie and then the Setup Assistant creates a new account. but then youd have your account still so see post 7 in the link to remove your old account.
