Star Walk is already a very popular app, and has even been featured by Apple in their iPad commercials and won a 2010 Apple Design Award for the iPad version, and now it’s added a Spectrum Bar with its latest update, which lets users see the sky in different wavelengths or regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, including Gamma Ray, X-Ray, Visible Light, H-alpha, Infrared, Microwave and Radio. Stargazers can slide their finger up or down the Spectrum Bar to change the wavelength and move along the spectrum. Each wavelength is represented by a different colour on the star map, and this gives Star Walk 5.4 the distinction of being the only stargazing guide to show the sky in this way. This new feature is the first fruit of a new partnership between Vito Technology and the European Space Agency.
