How does State Farm Insurance's Personal article insurance work? I live in a shady part of SF and i'm scared it might get stolen.

State farm

Works very well. I have my MBP(13in) a DSLR camera and several lenses. Price is about $40 a yr and that covers theft, accidental damage and no deductible.

seriously? why wouldnt u just call and ask

Seriously? is your attitude necessary? Seriously?!

I was considering switching home owners insurance to State Farm and was wondering how much premium other people are paying to insure a 15" MBP which cost $3000

If you are really concerned about theft if might be worth it, otherwise apple care should take care of any manufacturer defects.

I called my local agent and she said:

$2000 and over costs the $40/year and no deductible.

My $1200 MBP 13" will cost $25/year and a $250 deductible.

Seriously so weird. I want no deductible!!!

I just put State Farm insurance on my MacBook Pro. It cost something like $2.81/month. I'm going back there next week to put coverage on me and my dads iPhone 4's and on my iPad. It's kind of stupid not to do it being as it is so cheap. My agent told me adding those 3 items will only add like $1.50/month.

In review: AppleCare + State Farm = A lot less worrying.

Yes it works but it's sort of your one time get out of jail free card, because I believe the deductible shoots up to around $1000 after your first claim.

Still worth it, just staying though. Losing your iphone or iPod would be a lesser blow than losing your mac.
