Static from Hard Drive or other source.

I can hear my hard drive reading through what sounds like static from my speakers. Is this a problem with the speakers or the computer?
I have a iBook G4 933Mhz, with the standard equipment.
any help would be great. thanks

Well, its not the speakers, because when i plug in my headphones i have the same problem, I can always here static or something fuzzy in the devices i plug into the headphone jack. this doesnt happen when i listen to the built in speakers.

i hear the same thing when i plug in my headphones to my 12" Al PB. it seems like it's the HD causing some kind of line interference.
