I have a lot going through my USB port, including an external monitor. My speakers are connected to the same MBP. Whenever there is data transfer over the USB, there is a whirl in my speakers. I know this because whenever I move anything on my external USB monitors, I can hear the whirl. Even when there's no activity, having all of that stuff connected causes a ton of static. If I unplug the usb hub, all of the static goes away.

Help? :(
