I've tried different headphones, and I get this constant static white noise coming through them....verrrry annoying. it just started 2 days ago. It will like stop after 15 seconds if no audio is played. WTF? what should i do? It's been less than a year since i got my MBP, should i send it for repair? like i dont think i could go without it that long. thanks.

This is a common complaint among pre-Unibody MBPs. I once wrote an email to Sennheiser about their crappy headphones, but it turned out to be my old MBP. But maybe run it by an AppleStore Genius Bar or certified repair shop to find out if yours is beyond whatever tolerances there are.

I called 2 apple certified repair places ad they said they would likely change the logic board.......but would that fix the problem if these MBP's are flawed? Would I be better off making a long trip to an apple store and hope they just give me a spanking new unibody MBP?

My last gen MBP had a low hissing noise (which was more noticeable with higher quality headphones) which I doubt would have warranted a logic board replacement. It sounds like yours is an exception so you may get better results from the new logic board. I would not count on getting a new one.
