statistics? a good website recommendation...

Does anyone know a good website, which has a great general collection of world statistics (crime-rate, pollution, poverty, etc.)?

I checked google, but couldn't find a good site.

I hesitate to mention it but the CIA factbook is a useful place to start.

The information might be a bit ropey but it is a lot easier to navigate than the UN pages.

Eurostat is a good place to look for more detailed info, but again it's hard to navigate. There is an equivalent US one that is on the tip of my tongue.

If you want more basic, mainly financial information, the BBC business pages are a good place to skim through.

Alternatively if you have access you can search Lexis Nexis.
