Status bar color?

I thought one of the new features in iOS 6 was the fact the status bar changes colors to match the app?

Well why is it, it only does it in like 10% of the apps? It doesn't even do it in safari.

It only changes the color of the statusbar when the developer set its style to 'Default'. Safari doesn't do that because its navigationbar scrolls within the webview.
