Status bar disappears when unlocking

my wife's 6s has a strange issue. When she unlocks her phone with Touch ID sometimes the status bar doesn't appear. Just the row of apps. It's happened for the last few months and iOS 9.3.3 didn't fix it. Any solutions? Thanks
