Hey peeps,

My iPhone 3GS is having a recurring no-sim message, and I'm looking to AppleCare it. What's the status of current jailbreaks and unlocks? Can I jalbreak an unlock a brand new phone from apple with the most current fw/baseband?

Tethered jb-yes
Unlock-you'll have to update to the 6.x bb. This will make you ineligible for apple service because they'll know you hacked your phone. You'll have to decide how important an unlock is to you.
