I remember using a program called Status Style on 1.1.4 that let me change the style of status bar on the Springboard. I don't mean change the PNG file because that never works, I want a light, leopard-light status bar and with Winterboard the text colour remains white and it looks awful. I've tried changing the colour in my Info.plist for the theme I'm creating to no avail.

I wish I could just change the PNG in Springboard.app and use something like Status Style to set it to "tiger-style" as it used to let me.

Anyone know of a way to do this in 2.0?

EDIT: I want this program for 2.0 ideally, or a manual way to change it. Does anyone know how it works? I wouldn't mind farting around with system files to get this to work.

Basically open your /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist and expand SBSuspensionSettings, then scroll down to com.apple.springboard and expand that too. Change the number accordingly. Save and respring. :)

0: Colorful statusbar
2: invisible statusbar
3: semi-transparent statusbar
4: Causes the bar to be full transparent but leaving the icons visible so sick :p your amazing !
6: Red bar with white icons and text
7: Causes a loop back to the unlock screen
