steam and fontd

Tried starting steam, fontd just seems to be going and going and going...

I verified all my fonts in font book. Duplicates were the only warning, but all of them were "resolved". Tried restarting.

I left it running for 30min before killing it the first time... ARGH!

I ran into this exact same issue during the beta test. Make sure "Tahoma" is installed and enabled otherwise Steam will not launch.

Tahoma was enabled, but it also also one of the duplicates.

I think having Office 2004, 2008, and Silverlight (for Netflix) installed, might have at one point installed the duplicates.

Anyway, the typical MS fonts were under
/Library/Fonts and /Library/Fonts/Microsoft

I deleted the duplicates under /Library/Fonts and then Steam worked.
