I downloaded Steam for Mac. When I try to open it it says that it be on a case-insensitive filesystem. In disk utility, it says my hard drive is Mac OS Extended (Journaled), which I thought was case-insensitive?

Mac OS Extended (Journaled) is case insensitive. You'd need to create a partition of type Mac OS Extended case sensitive (Journaled) to have that option.

I'm not sure why steam is giving you that error message

OP, did you find what caused this?

I've just done a fresh install of Lion today and have this same problem, and my drive is also Mac OS Extended (Journaled) and not the case sensitive one. On my other MBP with the same drive formatting it works fine? What gives?
