Hey guys I compiled videos from pretty much all the Source engine games and put them together into one video.. I posted it on YouTube here:

Too bad the sound started trickling out of sync with the video.. Oh well. Not much I can do.

If you guys have any questions or comments, feel free to say what you please.

I'm considering making a Battlefield 2 & 2142 video to show the FPS, but i'm gone for a few weeks so unless I have internet connection I won't be able to make one. I'll try to keep up to date with this forum and reply as much as possible.

Thanks

this thread needs more love. that youtube video is really cool. informative, well done and fun.

My only request to the original poster would be to run things in 1440x900 instead of 1024x768. How does it perform at the MBP native resolution?

wow looks good, what settings? were you fans going mad?

The settings are listed at the very end.. And yeah the fans were pretty loud.. I liked that though.. I'd rather have it loud than be a minature stove.

Thanks! Thats exactly what I was aiming for.. Something very informative, particularly about those kind of games and how well they run.

I guess I should have done that, but I figured i'd leave it at pretty much what the settings would be set as a default because i'm sure a lot of people just leave their video settings alone or have it close to what I ran mine at. FYI; I did change my resolution to 1440x900 and changed AA to 4x and ran the Counter-Strike: Source video stress test. My results were an average of 96.24 fps.

wow, 96.5 FPs, that is pretty solid, I saw that your running in Vista, a couple of quick questions

Did you have any booting/ driver problems with VISTA and also I assume that now there is a VISTA driver for the 8600GT...

I really want to be able to run games like Crysis and stuff but I doubt I will be able too (I have my 360 for serious gaming) but having STEAM on my future MBP would be just awesome, I mean Medieval Total War 2 is just the perfect airplane videogame, ha.

Thanks for posting all of this info and taking the time to make the video.

Sorry to burst your bubble Emrtr4.. I'm running XP Home.

I don't know anything about Crysis.. Not too interested about it. I've heard it's a very graphic intensive game though. I'm sure this will have no troubles playing Crysis. It might not be 200fps constantly, but it will deffinately be playable, i'll almost guarantee that. This laptop is bad ass.
