Steermouse Focus

I have just installed steermouse for my Logitech v470 and really like it better than LCC except for one issue. With the logitech drivers, the mouse focus is wherever the cursor is. You don't have to click in a window in order to scroll. (Also, in Mail, Steermouse will not scroll the listing of emails, just the preview window) Any way to get Steermouse to behave this way or will USB Overdrive work this way? Thanks!
