Is the oleophobic crystal clear or does take away from the retina? I'm too much of a retina fanatic to use any sp that even slightly removes the glory.

It won't effect retina, it's clear. If your wondering what's the difference from oleo to crystal clear, is that this one has protection against oils. It's really good, but make sure you don't pick up a fake. I know amazon sells fakes, you can tell because they don't use spaces in the blurb on the packaging and ultra is spelt one of the front. You should be buying close enough to the full retail price of $20/30

It start out really good but the coating seems to be less effective over time/wear. Mine now seems like a normal crystal protector.
