Just curious, what exactly should i do if i want to sell my 3GS and unlock it (it is unlockable, older boot rom)?

1)unlock/jailbreak firmware 3.1.3 with sn0wbreeze
2)restore to firmware
3)do NOT restore any personal info
4)take out SIM card and sell?

is it as easy as that? Then when i get the new one ill have to pay early upgrade and sign for an additional 2 years?

Thanks...i hope someone still wants to buy one :(

Note: if talk about jailbreak is not allowed here, i will edit (or a mod can edit). sorry!

prolly buy an iPhone 4 regardless because i am just that pathetic heh

I don't even bother unlocking. I just restored the phone to factory settings and took the sim card out. I figured the purchaser would want to do it themselves. I've heard you can get a bit more money if you do the unlocking work though.

Are you sure you're able to unlock it? I've had my unlocked and jailbroken since launch, so I have not been keeping up at all. I just remember that if you've upgraded the firmware and it updated your baseband, you could not unlock it again. But maybe they have a workaround for that now?

Might be something you want to look into if you haven't already.
